This week we went to the NYU data service again. And this time we knew more about the things we want to do, so the it was easier for both sides. We asked a few questions about how to hide and show certain sheets in the dashboard. Because we would love to show the data about the category of population being served, and there are a number of categories in the fact sheet. It will be better to show it one at a time and let the user to choose if they want to see other categories. So we have create this sheet with a drop down menu that allows the user to choose for themselves.
Also, we have re-designed the detailed data visualization similar to the existing one.
We have also iterate on the trend data visualization. By comparing the data from different years, the user can have a better understanding of changes of the commitments. For example, we can see that the percentage of creating opportunities for youth is taking more and more space.
Next step, we need to revise the essay, work on the presentation, and do another geo-related visualization for next week.
