This week me and Evelyn have visited the data services. And Amy helped us on some technical issues including using Tableau.
We asked her about how to link different diagrams together so that they are interactive. We also asked her to help us understand some of the rules using Tableau. Besides that, she also showed us some tricks about presentation.
After that, me and Evelyn took a deep look into the data set. We realized that the data set needed some cleaning. For example, students/ schools/ districts should not be in one column. They should have their individual columns. States information is also not formatted well.
Since for the commitment, they are looking for trends and changes among years. We would like to focus on the comparison for the three years. However, we only have the fact sheets for 2016 and 2017, we will have to find a way to convert them into data that can be visualized.
