Internship Journal #06

This week I have kept working on the job portal. Moving on from the resume book, the instructors also required a function for them to be able to track student data. From there, I think it is essential to build a student dashboard where they can manage their files, track their applied jobs, saved jobs and student's statics.

The landing page will have three entry points at this stage, dashboard, job board and the resume book. When clicking on the dashboard, the user goes to the "My File" landing page under the dashboard. On this page, the user can manage their files. The first button can take the user to the resume profile page. The second section is the resume section where user can upload new resumes and delete uploaded resumes. The third sections is for users to upload cover letters. The next tab of the dashboard is the "Job Track" landing page. Here the student can manage the progress of job applications. After applying the job from company site or internal job board, the user can input the name of the company and other related information so that he can come back each time to re-visit his progress. The final tab is the "my stats" tab which the team has decided on recording the number of jobs being applied. Besides that, we might need more team input to know what other stats we need.

Corresponding to the students' dashboard, the instructor also needs to have a place to look at all of the information. That is why I have add the features of stats review and student profile. In stats review, the instructors can look at the job stats as well as the student stats. For example, he can see how many students applied for a certain job and how many of them have passed the interview. Or he can see students by number of jobs applied. When visiting the student profile. He can see all the files and information contains in the student dashboard.
